My real name is a variant of this, and even though I love my name, in my opinion, I love Angelique for how nice, attractive, and clean it is. In fact most names that have the prefix “angel” are usually really pretty names.
I think Kiki could be a potential nickname for Angelique.
Very pretty and regal-sounding.
This name is a very weird name and I absolutely hate it as it does not age well. Angelique is totally a RUBBISH name.
So beautiful and soft, and I love the meaning!
I think Angelina and Angelica are much prettier and angelic. They sounds daintier and more refined.
My parents named me Aungelique but then people just kept on mispronouncing my name which pissed me off so my parents nicknamed me Aungie of Skilliwoo which was soo embarrassing so I re-nicknamed myself Angie which my parents still hate me for- well ha ha to them.
Hi there. I'm Angelique. And I love my name. I love the different ways of pronouncing it, in French,
and Irish. I think by defining yourself you come to love everything about yourself. God made me this way, chose my name for a reason in the season. And He would not have me any other way. I just love my name.
This is my name... I like it because it's unique but I don't like it because everyone says it wrong. In my life I've had 2 people say it correctly and only 1 spell it. I could be a millionaire if I got a dollar for every time someone misspelled or mispronounced it. People call me ang for short because my mother hates Angie and angelica. I was named after the character in the movie Gator bate 2.
This is my name... I was born in South Africa to Portuguese immigrants. At the time that I was born it had become a popular name, so many Portuguese girls of my generation, living in South Africa, were called Angelique. It was seen as a pretty common name but lovely too. I loved my name growing up because it sounded feminine and sweet (I was called Angie for short).
Angelique is a pretty name. It is really long though. My friends' little sister has that name and it looks fantastic on her! I think it stands out- it sounds French as well. Cute name- wish more people knew about it!
I pronounce this name Ann-gel-eek. I have met several people named Angelique (from birth; unlike those who change their name to this divine label) in my life so far, and almost oddly, each one is stunningly beautiful. Not only are they a vision to behold physically, but each were gracious in their demeanor. Even the children! The other point to be made is that they all had vicious haters. Jealous people who either: couldn't have Angelique or couldn't BE Angelique.
I think it sounds kind of ghetto... not sure.
Not on French girls ;-)
I don't really like the name Angelique very much. Wouldn't Angelice ("awn-zhə-LEES") have made a nicer French variant of Angelica?
Angelique is my name but no one can say it right so it bothers me a bit. So my parents gave me a nickname and the name also brought a little bit of teasing. My nickname in 1st grade was Angel leaked in her pants. So that's a bit of a warning. And my mom also named me after that chick from that show Dark Shadows.
Another of those names which sounds too sickly sweet to be nice.
This used to be one of my all time favorite names. I still think it is beautiful. I prefer it to the anglicized version, Angelica.
