I've always thought Anise sounded like a pretty name as well as, of course, a delightful licorice scent/flavor. =D.

Apparently there are two pronunciations of this name AN-is and a-NEES. AN-is is one I wouldn't recommend because it sounds like "anus", but a-NEES is really nice!

It's not at all similar to anus since the emphasis is on a different syllable. It's a refreshing break from cringy Anne.

I love this name. It's beautiful and strong and clever. I have the most amazing friend called Anise and she has so many good qualities. This is a great name.
