I pronounce this "AHN-ter-oh" (like "Ontario"), although I don't know any Finnish. Lovely name no matter how it's said, though. :) Makes me think of a stong, but friendly man and I'm currently using it in a story I'm writing.

Antero Vipunen is a giant in the Kalevala (the national epic of Finland).

Antero Vipunen was a scholarly giant in the Finnish mythology. Not related to the name Andrew in any way, since it predates the arrival of Christianity by several centuries.
