It sounds like a total princess name, and I like that. I also appreciate the detail that it is a name that has a bit of history; I mean, they haven't made it up or anything like that. Honestly, I don't understand why Araminta doesn't have the same popularity as other old-fashioned names that people now use for popularity. What does Abigail, Charlotte or Emma have that Araminta doesn't? I'm not saying that those three are far from ugly, but Araminta is also beautiful and should be as popular as the others. Also, Minty is a super cute nickname. Yes, I like it.
I dislike it. It will be trendee soon, just as bad as Kaxton or Jaxon.
The aram- part of Araminta puts me off because of 'haram' and 'harem'.I prefer both Amaranta and Aminta over it.I also love Minta and Minty. They remind me of mint, a taste that I love. I would use both as full names, not short forms of it.The fact is that Araminta itself is too elaborated and the meaning is uncertain.I can see it in Harry Potter or another story full of witches and wizards. It is fascinating but nothing I would choose in real life.
Araminta is a lovely, uncommon name. If you name your daughter Araminta, she will be the only Araminta in her class, probably.
My 4 week old baby is called Araminta and I absolutely love it as it's really unique. Although not much in use, we've had some lovely comments about it, even by the registrar. As a teacher, my challenge was to find a name that wouldn't necessarily remind me of a child I have taught. We call Araminta Minty Rose too. She's a honey pot!
Araminta is my given name, I use Mindy for short. I was named after my Grandmother, she goes by Minty. I didn't use the name much as a child, I hated it, but as I've gotten older, I've learned to like it.
This name is mint! No pun intended!
Really?
Anyways, I don't think 'mint' being in the middle of the name is a big deal- it's not unpleasant sounding/brings up bad imagery for most people. I think this is usable.
I think this name is rather a nice name - very rare and refreshing. :)
Haha that is funny what Starla Roxanne said with the great name for a breath mint. I'd imagine that people with that name would get teased quite a bit since the word mint is in the name. I never knew this was a name until I met a baby named Araminta a few months ago. I like it though.
Araminta: an excellent name for a breath mint. Feel the minty air? Araminta!
