One of my cousins is called Asha and I quite like it. It's similar sounding to Ashley but much less heard of! I also think the meaning is really beautiful.

The spelling "Ascha" is a variant of this name. I love having the name, but it's pronounced as "A-sha" in Denmark rather than "Ah-sha" as they do in English speaking countries.

There is a song called "Brimful of Asha" by British rock band Cornershop, released in 1997 (reached #1 in the UK).

The song was written about listening to Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle (b. 1933), who has sung over 12 000 songs in 18 languages for Bollywood films, and has received dozens of awards and honours.
