Atsuko Kagari is the main protagonist of the anime Little Witch Academia.
Atsuko Ikeda is the widow of Marquis Takamasa Ikeda and fourth daughter of Emperor Shōwa and Empress Kōjun. As such, she is the older sister of Emperor Akihito.
Atsuko Nishida is a graphic artist who has been involved with several aspects of the Pokémon franchise since it began. She was part of the graphics team on Pulseman, one of Game Freak's most successful early titles, working alongside Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri and artist Ken Sugimori. Atsuko Tanaka is a Japanese voice actress associated with Mausu Promotion (formerly Ezaki Productions). Her most-known voice role is Motoko Kusanagi in the Ghost in the Shell film and franchise. She also voices Caster in the Fate/stay night, Lisa Lisa in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Claudette in Queen's Blade, and Karura in Utawarerumono. In video games, she voices title characters Lara Croft in the Japanese dub of the Tomb Raider games, and Bayonetta in the Bayonetta: Bloody Fate film adaptation and Bayonetta 2. She studied with the Tokyo Announcement Academy in voice training in 1991. In 2012, a Biglobe poll named her the voice actress with the sexiest voice.
Atsuko Inaba is a former Japanese idol female pop singer formerly within Hello! Project. She began her career as a Japanese idol with all-girl group Osaka Performance Doll from 1993 to 1996, then joined new Hello! Project group Taiyo to Ciscomoon (later named "T&C Bomber") in 1999, until its end in late 2000. She stayed within Hello! Project as a chorist and dancer, without a being a soloist or in a group, but appeared in the temporary Hello! Project shuffle units Aoiro 7, 7Air, H.P. All Stars and Puripuri Pink. On October 30, 2009, she announced that her contract with Up-Front Agency, the parent company to Hello! Project, had ended.
Atsuko Maeda is a Japanese singer and actress known for her work in the Japanese idol group AKB48. Maeda was one of the most prominent members in the group, and placed first among all AKB48 and sister group candidates in the group's general 2009 and 2011 elections, and second in the 2010 election. She also appeared on many of its album covers. On March 25, 2012, she announced her graduation from AKB48; it was held on August 27. She has since continued with a solo singing and acting career.
I find that the kanji for that "atsu" in Atsuko can be synonyms in English.
I think the name Atsuko seems rather warm and exuberant, while still somewhat refined. It's a very cute name, though I certainly wouldn't name my child Atsuko. A boy named Atsuko would be absurd, and it seems very feminine.
