So basic and dated.
I like the name Ava I think it works GREAT for little girls and is good for women. It reminds me of a sweet little girl and honestly, a bit of a self centered woman.
SOOO overdone! Every other birth announcement here over the last 7-8 years has been Ava. Over it!
I love the ah-vah pronunciation. Hate the English pronunciation, ay-və.
Means "melody" in Farsi (Persian).
I like the AH-vah pronunciation. I used to know an Iranian Ava.
I love the Iranian and German (AH-vah) pronunciation. It sounds beautiful and the meaning of this is nice. I HATE the English "AY-və" pronunciation.
Just want to add an update. Whilst I love the sound of this pronunciation, Ava pronounced the English way (AY-və) has actually grown on me! I love both now. =)
I like the pronunciation "Ah-vah"- not "AY-va".
In most languages, besides English, this name is pronounced as Ahvah. Meaning can be either life or bird, based on the origin you refer to (Hebrew or Latin).
Luckily, it is still quite rare and special in Europe. We love the name and think it is beautiful, and tender yet strong, and will probably naming our soon to be daughter Ava.
I think that Ava is a lovely name, that's gettin really, really, popular.
This is my favorite way to pronounce this name (A-vuh). I like this name. I think it best suits a dark haired, teenage girl.
I love this name! It is cute, but I could picture a young or old person with this name.
