Comments for the name Azazel

Comments for AZAZEL:

I quite like this name. It's nice.

Azazel was a character in Supernatural, where he was the main Demon and worked to open the gates of hell onto the world.
There was also an Azazel in a miniseries called Fallen, which is also about Nephilim. He was a fallen angel who ended up chained to a stone slab underground for several millenia. If I remember correctly, he also had a particular fondness for french fries.

I have a ferret named Azazel, nicknamed Azael (Az-EEL). I find it to be a fitting name for ferrets and other pets considered "bad," "wild," or "evil."

However, I really don't think it would be a good name for a human. For a human, it'd be like naming a kid Satan.

Sounds like a a cheesy magician or a cleaning product. "Prepare to be dazzled by the amazing Azazel! On the count of three, Azazel will say the magic spell and make this card disappear!"

The double az sound is too harsh and strange.

Who would name their child this? It means "scapegoat!" which is the lowest rank in the wolf pack and also a brand of beer.

I don't know why, but Azazel sounds like a female name to me.
