Worst name ever. In Hebrew we even use it as a curse ("laazazel!"-dammit!). Who will use a curse as a name of a child?! Please don't call your child like that!
Very strange sounding. It sounds like a name for villain rather than a child. And the meaning is terrible!
For some reason, I really like this name. It sounds pretty cool, and rebellion against god is a better meaning than scapegoat. Plus, I love Z sounds.
I don't know why, but Azazel sounds like a female name to me.
Who would name their child this? It means "scapegoat!" which is the lowest rank in the wolf pack and also a brand of beer.
Sounds like a a cheesy magician or a cleaning product. "Prepare to be dazzled by the amazing Azazel! On the count of three, Azazel will say the magic spell and make this card disappear!"The double az sound is too harsh and strange.
I have a ferret named Azazel, nicknamed Azael (Az-EEL). I find it to be a fitting name for ferrets and other pets considered "bad," "wild," or "evil."However, I really don't think it would be a good name for a human. For a human, it'd be like naming a kid Satan.
I quite like this name. It's nice. Azazel was a character in Supernatural, where he was the main Demon and worked to open the gates of hell onto the world.
There was also an Azazel in a miniseries called Fallen, which is also about Nephilim. He was a fallen angel who ended up chained to a stone slab underground for several millenia. If I remember correctly, he also had a particular fondness for french fries.
