Comments for BATEL:
Pronounced bah-tell.-- Miss Claire 7/29/2006
It's a compound name (Bat-El) pronounced baht-EHL. [noted -ed]-- Inbal 5/1/2007
Oh dear, the kid would have to prepare for Battle (Batel).-- Anonymous User 8/6/2008
Beautiful meaning. What could be a lovelier name for a girl than "Daughter of God"? I think Batel sounds really cute. I love Hebrew girl's names that contain the "El" (God) element, like Batel, Eliora, Eliana, and my favourite Raziela. But because I'm not of the faith I wouldn't use them.
And I disagree with the comment above. Firstly, Batel is pronounced baht-EL, not like "battle", and secondly, "battle" is an English word, and this name is used mostly by people who speak Hebrew, so that wouldn't be an issue.-- Ailis 1/2/2010
I don't like this name. Then again, I don't like religious names much.-- Anonymous User 9/26/2010
