Berthold Wolpe, OBE, (1905 – 1989) was a German Jewish calligrapher, typographer, type designer, book designer and illustrator. He was made a Royal Designer for Industry in 1959, awarded an honorary doctorate by the Royal College of Art in 1968 and appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1983.
Berthold K.P. Horn is an American scientist working in the field of artificial intelligence and computer vision. He is Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is also Principal Investigator at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT.
Berthold Lubetkin (1901 – 1990) was a Georgian-British architect who pioneered modernist design in Britain in the 1930s. His work includes the Highpoint housing complex, the Penguin Pool at London Zoo, Finsbury Health Centre and Spa Green Estate.
German poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht was a famous bearer. His full name at birth was Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht.
