When I picture Bluma, I think of a little blonde girl in a pink dress holding a bouquet of flowers. Lovely and classic.
I like the name Bluma, as a Jew of European descent.
I think it needs more attention not only in Jewish communities but also in other places too.
I would suggest the spelling Blooma for English speakers because it looks like a variant of the name "Bloom".
But I kind of prefer the variant Bluma over Blooma, I think Bluma has unique energy and personality.
Also, another spelling that would be good for Germany or France and it's Bloome, or Blume (which is actually used by speakers German-Yiddish. It also means flower in German.)Anyway spell that name however you want, but definitely, this name is a keeper for me.
Adorable! I really like the spelling, so nice and feminine.
How beautiful! ❤️ The meaning is nice.
Sounds a little old-fashioned, but I kind of like it.
I used to think that despite the nice meaning this name sounded a bit harsh and elderly, even though I don't know anyone with the name Bluma, elderly or otherwise. These days though I think it's really lovely and charming and girly, while not being frilly, and just cute, and I love its meaning. It makes me think of flowers and the Swedish word for flower which is blomma and sounds very similar to Bluma, just with a double m, and obviously they share the same roots.
Bluma Petersen is a singer signed to the Epidemic Sound record label, she makes electro pop music.
What a lovely, underused name! I just discovered it recently on this very site and I'm reallyyy really glad I did so. ^^
I used to hate this name so I only used my first name but now it is so rare I actually like it! I think it isn't such a terrible name and I pronounce it blimah.
This name is sometimes written Blima (blee-mah).
