Carmina means "songs" in Latin. Carmen, which means "song", is a neuter third declension noun, so the nominative and accusative plurals end in a. Carmen is also an I stem, so the e becomes an I in certain places. I don't think this name is technically derived from the Latin carmina, but that might be an influence for this particular variation of Carmen.
Italian, means sweet and humble. Has been around since the 1800's. People with this name are usually creative, artistic and love music.
