Comments (Famous Bearer Only)

This spelling of the name was borne by Carry A. Nation, a leader in the Temperance movement in 19th century America. She was infamous for her "hatchetations", radical attacks on bars (during which she would sing, pray, and destroy the bar in question with a hatchet), and was often pictured carrying a Bible and a hatchet.
