In South Wales Ceinwen is pronounced KINE-WEN, (in N.Wales, it is pronounced CAIN-WEN). However way it is pronounced, we always get complimented on the name. It is my granddaughter's and this name was chosen because of its meaning.-- june 12/10/2005

Ceinwen is my given name. I have to put up with people pronouncing and spelling it completely wrong, and so I have to spell or sound it out to people all the time. I pronounce it as KINE-wen, although I think it sounds lovely the other way too.
It's such a rare name here (I'm in Australia), but I wouldn't have it any other way. Over the years I've come to love it as just being a part of who I am. :)-- Mada Weird 2/6/2007
