Prince Claus of the Netherlands was the husband of queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. He died on October 6, 2002.
In Sweden we have the spelling Claes, a bit fancier than Klas.

Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, a Colonel in the Nazi army, was central to the 20 July Plot to assassinate Hitler and institute Operation Valkyrie in an attempt to end World War II and come to peace with the Allies. He realized that what the Nazi party was doing was wrong and that one was either for Hitler or for Germany, but not both. He was executed after the failed assassination attempt by a firing squad on the next day.
