Reminds me of butter: "Roll it over, in the clover".
-- Charlie3  11/2/2005
This is a pretty cool name.
-- swisssugar  7/15/2006
I really like this. I would be so tempted if my little girl had red hair or born on St. Patty's day! At least for a middle name!
-- scarletcorset  8/6/2006
This name has the word love in it!
-- Dogsy  8/19/2006
I like this name! Unusual, but not hard to spell or pronounce, and very cute and feminine. There is a manga called 'Clover' that has a girl by the same name, I think.
-- Iridosmine  10/16/2006
This would be an awesome name for someone who was born on St. Patrick's Day!
-- Taydbug112  12/18/2006

In the movie The Good Shepherd, Angelina Jolie's characters name was Clover. She later changed it to Margaret.

I think Clover is a cute name for a little girl, but it's too childish for an adult.

I think it sounds more like the name of a pet bunny.
-- Chloever33  8/12/2007
I wouldn't say this was my favorite name, but I do think it is pretty.
-- Katja Eidis  1/20/2008
I wouldn't use this on a human being. It doesn't sound very nice anyway.
-- slight night shiver  4/20/2008
That's my name. I was born 17th of March too. My hair is sort of auburn too. And I'm Irish. My eyes are emerald green. Suits me, doesn't it?
-- GarbageGuy  5/12/2008
I love the name Clover, in fact I named my beautiful daughter Clover Lee. I think it is both strong and ordinarily unique. How can you hate a name that is filled with "love", and associated with luck?
-- Anonymous User  11/18/2008
A good name for a horse or a cow. I wouldn't use it on a person.
-- number1212  12/28/2008
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts sang the cover "Crimson and Clover". It's really good, I LOVE IT. In my opinion, Joan did it better than Tommy.

I really adore this name, however it doesn't seem formal enough for a given first name.
-- vomiting  7/12/2009
When I think "Clover" I think of a hippie child with dark brown hair and green eyes. This is a really nice and pretty name. :D

-- YourAchillesHeel  11/29/2009
It's very pretty, but I'm not daring enough to use it as a first name. A middle one would be suitable, seeing as I'm half-Irish.
-- Cobweb  12/31/2009
It is nice but I think that it's also too cute.
Reminds me of a cheerful person.
-- Anonymous User  2/20/2010
Definitely a cow-name, not for a person. If you want to name a girl after a plant, name her something like Rose, Lily, or Violet, even the still-unfashionable Myrtle, something established, not Clover.
-- greta-elisif  1/18/2011
I think it sounds masculine, and it also sounds like the name of a dog, rather than a human.
-- Black_X  7/28/2011
Clover can also be a surname.
-- Hushpuppy  10/29/2011
Clover Elizabeth (b. August 2011) is the daughter of American actor Neal McDonough and his wife Ruve.
