Cornelia Scipio Cornelia Scipio was the daughter of Scribonia Libo and the consul Publius Cornelius Scipio Salvito. She married the son of Lucius Paullus. Her husband was Lucius Aemilius Paullus, who served as a censor and brother to consul Aemilius Lepidus Paullus. Their son Lucius Aemilius Paullus married his cousin Vipsania Julia and their son Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (consul 6 AD) became a senator. She was the elder half-sister of Julia the Elder and aunt to Gaius Caesar, Vipsania Julia, Lucius Caesar, Agrippina the Elder and Postumus Agrippa.
I believe the Romanian pronunciation for this name is kor-NEEL-yah.

My mum's name is Cornelia but everyone calls her Lia. Or even Li/Lee (my dad). My mum really hates her name, and I don't personally like it either. So I guess my child will never be named after my mum.
Cornelia is a character in the TV show W.I.T.C.H. She has the power over earth. This is also the name of Samantha's aunt in the American Girl books about Samantha.

In Romania the name is pronounced COR-NE-LIA, with the accent on E.
It's a beautiful name. Even though there's a bunch of awful nicknames, the actual name is a personal favorite. It's sweet sounding, and looks good when spelled.
Cornelia Johanna Arnolda ten Boom, better known as Corrie ten Boom, was a Dutch woman who helped and hid Jews during the Holocaust and was sent to a concentration camp for it. She is one of my heroes and though I hate the name Cornelia, I possibly would give a daughter of mine the middle name Corrie in honor of her.
This is quite a nice name, although when I hear it, it reminds me of someone wearing horns. It's not unpleasant, although I prefer the name Cordelia, which sounds a lot better in my opinion. Nevertheless, Cornelia is still a lovely name, and Corrie is a great nickname. :)
This is one of the most beautiful names out there, along with Anna. I love the name Cornelia--it is truly a princess' name in the 1300-1400s! :) So beautiful.
I think Cornelia is a beautiful name; it flows off the tongue like music. The new kitten we adopted in June is named Cornelia Rose. We call her "Nell". She is named after our Cornelius cat, who just died this week. I didn't care for the name when we adopted him in 1996, but I came to love the name as I loved my cat.
"C" is hard, "K." "O" is as usual, "Oh." Roll your "R." "E" equals quite near to the English greeting of "Hey" (exclude the "H"). The "I" is stressed to "EE." "A" as in "Father." Although the last bit ("Lia"/"Lee-Ah") becomes sllightly morphed to "Lyah" when spoken. [noted -ed]
Cornelia li Brittania is the name of a character from the anime Code Geass. I personally think this name sounds regal and imposing, old-fashioned but not musty or boring.
