This spelling seems much more fun, lighthearted, energetic, and youthful to me than other spellings.
I don't like this name because of Cyndi Lauper. Cindy is much more beautiful.
If you pronounce it, it does sound like a strange variant of Cindy!
I once loved this but now I think it's whiny.
While I do like Cyndi Lauper, I find this spelling to be too ditzy and girly. I prefer Cindy.
I think Cyndi Lauper's songs are much more than "guilty pleasures." Sure there have been some novelty numbers, but she is in fact an artist who takes her music seriously. (She just has a bit of a whacky sense of humor). As for the "novelty" of the spelling of her name, I imagine she really was "Cindy" in her younger days. That was the common spelling--probably TOO common for someone setting out to make her mark in the music world. But is the spelling all THAT outrageous? It pretty much mirrors the spelling of its source name: cYnthIa/cYndI). Makes sense to me.
It is better spelt as Cindy because Cyndi makes me think of Cyndi Lauper.
I really, really think Cindy looks much nicer, but I'm not too fond of the name anyway. It makes me think of vapid ditzes from the 80s for some reason. I only associate this spelling with Cyndi Lauper. Don't get me wrong, Cyndi Lauper was and is very likeable as a person, or so it appears, and her songs can be guilty pleasures, but I wouldn't want the name of my child to immediately bring a celebrity with a creatively spelled name to mind.
