Daisuke

Daisuke Katou (加東 大介), born 1911, died 1975, was a very gifted character actor and one of Kurosawa's regulars. He portrayed Shichiroji in 'Seven Samurai' and Inokichi in 'Yojimbo'.

In 2016 he made his first appearance on the boards of the Imperial Theatre in musical 1789 - Bastille no Koibitotachi.

Daisuke Maeda is a paralympic swimmer from Japan competing mainly in category S6 events. Daisuke was a competitor at two Paralympic games, first in 2000 then in 2004. At the 2000 games he was part of the Japanese squads that failed to make the final of the 4 × 100 m freestyle and the 4 × 100 m medley. Individually he also failed to make the final in the 50m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 400m freestyle. He would have more luck in 2008 where the Japanese 4x50m medley squad won a silver medal behind the Brazilian squad that set a new Paralympic record, and also finished fourth in the 4x50m freestyle, individually he competed in the 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle but again failed to make any finals.

Daisuke Ejima is a paralympic swimmer from Japan competing mainly in category S7 events. Daisuke has competed at two Paralympics, firstly in 2004 in Athens and then in 2008 in Beijing. In Athens he was part of the Japanese 4x50m Medley team that won a silver medal behind a new Paralympic record set by Brazil. He also competed in the 50m butterfly finishing seventh, 100m backstroke finishing seventh and was disqualified from the heat of 200m individual medley. At the 2008 games he competed in the same individual events finishing fourth in the 50m butterfly, fifth in the 100m backstroke and seventh in the 200m individual medley.

Daisuke “Dice” Tsutsumi is an animation artist and illustrator living in San Francisco, California. He is a former art director of Pixar. Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Dice moved to New York in 1993 where he enrolled at the School of Visual Arts. After graduating in 1998, he began a two-year stint as a staff illustrator at Lucas Learning Ltd. In 2000, Dice was employed as a visual development/color key artist for Blue Sky Studios where he stayed until 2010 when he joined Pixar before leaving in 2014 to start Tonko House. He is married to Mei Okuyamai, the niece of acclaimed anime director Hayao Miyazaki. He co-directed The Dam Keeper which was nominated for the Oscar for short animated film.

Daisuke "Dice" Murakami is a Japanese figure skater. He is the 2014 NHK Trophy champion, 2011 Ondrej Nepela Memorial champion, and 2009 Japan Junior bronze medalist.

Daisuke Miura is a former professional baseball player from Kashihara, Nara, Japan. He was a starting pitcher for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. Miura was drafted 6th in the 1991 Nippon Professional Baseball draft by the Yokohama Taiyo Whales. He made his professional debut against the Yomiuri Giants on October 7, 1992, retiring six straight batters in relief.

Matsuzaka was selected the MVP of the inaugural and the second World Baseball Classic, and is an Olympic bronze medalist. Yep, the name Daisuke just happens to be the name of Daisuke Niwa from D.N. Angel. I love this name, as well! It's probably my favorite Japanese name, but I also really like the name Takashi.
