Damien Echols (born Michael Wayne Hutcheson) is one of the West Memphis Three, who were convicted in 1994 of having murdered three little boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. Many people think they were falsely convicted and they're now out of prison after having entered Alford please in 2011. Although Damien Echols changed his first name to Damien in honor of Father Damien, the missionary priest, part of the mythology that sprung up around the case was that he'd changed his name to Damien in honor of the Antichrist from the "Omen" movies, and his name change was seen as an indication that he was a Satan-worshipper fully capable of murder.
