I read something that suggested that the name Dan may be part of the origin of many, many place names in Europe--especially Denmark (which apparently literally means Dan's mark), Ireland and Scotland. In fact, the Scots and Danes may very well be descended from this Hebrew tribe, which really excites me (I'm a quarter Scotch-Irish). I'll have to do more research to see if I can't confirm this.
