According to some Internet sources, Irish actress Dervla Kirwan (1971-) was born Deirbhile in Churchtown, Dublin. She anglicised her name to avoid pronunciation confusion.

There is a Saint Deirbhile sometimes her name is spelt Dervila Dervilla or Dearbhla. A holy Well in the mullet in County Mayo is called "Saint Deirbhile's Vat" which has a shrine to her over the well the well is said to be good for curing eye trouble.
