Digory Kirke from C. S. Lewis's series The Chronicles of Narnia had only one "g" in his name. J. K. Rowling added another "g" for her character Cedric Diggory, who was indeed named after Digory Kirke.

Digory Kirke is also the Professor in 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe' with whom the four Pevensie children stay in the country. He appears again in 'The Last Battle.'

Please don't name your kid Diggory. (Diggety-dig, enough said.)

Digg u ree. I had to say it to myself a few times and I'm still unsure if I like or not. It's an interesting name but kind of odd.

This is an old-fashioned, ugly name, it sounds like something stuck-up British parents would use, and the nicknames. Oh dear.

I think this is quite a nice name, in actual fact, and it's not at all ugly or old-fashioned, in my opinion. :-)
