Derived from Romanian dor meaning "longing". Actually "dor" does not have an exact correspondent in any other (at least popular) language.

For native Romanian speakers this name is simple and sounds extremely beautiful - but for English speakers without the ability to softly roll the R it loses much.

However it is a graceful name for man and somehow conveys poetry and sensitivity.
