Comments for the name Dosia

An aunt of Laura Ingalls Wilder was named Docia. Spelled differently, but still.

I can think of two ways to pronounce this name, and both sound bad. The other one makes me think of doses, and the other one makes me think of ghetto names.

It's pronounced DAW-sha. The "sh" is not exactly how English speakers would pronounce it (it softened by the "i") but I've noticed that most of Polish names ending with "-sia" get the "-sha" pronunciation, so there.
