Elain was the name of the woman who tricked Sir Lancelot into thinking she was Guinevere, and he married her. Their son was Galahad. (At least, I think so.)

Wasn't there a character in Jerry Seinfeld with this name? And also, Elain was the name of Horst's wife in Christopher Paolini's novels.
