I love this name because it's different without being weird, however to avoid mispronunciations I would spell it either Eleini or Eleyni to make sure people pronounce it the way I like it which is ee-lay-nee.-- gigilin23 12/17/2008

So, this is not the normal way to pronounce the name, but my wife is Eleni, and when her parents named her, the decided to pronounce it EL-in-eye, as her mother didn't want her to ever be called 'Lenny.'
My wife usually tells people to pronounce it just like the letters: L-N-I. :) We also have friends who named their daughter Eleni with the same pronunciation, though she always goes by 'Ella.'-- eblackwo 3/31/2012
