The meaning cannot be "my God is YAHWEH", because the name doesn't contain the element for "YHWH" (that is usually "yah", "yahu" or something like that). The correct meaning should be something like "He is God" or "He is my God" (you can check here: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=Elihu, here: http://books.google.it/books?hl=it&id=FVyHTUQnnBgC&q=Elihu#v=snippet&q=Elihu and here: http://books.google.it/books?id=gt44XaOQotsC&pg=PA150&#v=onepage&q=Elihu ). [noted -ed]

I know this name from Dashiell Hammett's novel Red Harvest; Elihu Willson is a major character. He is an old man who once controlled the town, but is now bedridden. His son is murdered in the first chapter, which sets the rest of the plot in motion.
