User comments for Elisabete (Meaning / History Only)

This is a somewhat modern coinage that came to use in the 1960's due to Anglo-Saxon and French influences. The traditional and more common form of Elizabeth in Portuguese continues to be Isabel.

Elisabete is pronounced [eh-lee-zah-BET]; common nicknames are Elisa, Beta, and Bé. [noted -ed]
