Comments (Meaning / History Only)

According to my Hungarian teacher, this is the oldest equivalent of Andrew. It is actually a pre-Christian name, unconnected to Andrew, though it is traditionally identified with it. Andras, the next oldest form, is genuinely derived from Andrew (or Andreas), and Andor was created to put a more Hungarian spin on it.
