The legendary magician Harry Houdini was born Ehrich (sometimes spelled Erich) Weiss. His family moved to the United States from Hungary when he was 4, and in 1913 at the age of 39 he legally changed his name to "Harry Houdini."

Not-really-all-that-famous bearer. In TES3: Bloodmoon, there is a Nord guy in the meadhall at Thirsk named Erich the Unworthy. He's very creepy. "Oh aren't you the comeliest young lass! Why don't you come here and let Big Erich keep you warm?" So yeah that pretty much ruined the name for me.
