My friend has been speaking a lot lately of someone in her family with this name, so it's been hitting my ear repeatedly and making me curious. At first, I liked it only because it was unusual and classic at the same time, although I wasn't sure if I liked the actual sound of it. The more I've been hearing it, though, the more I actually really also enjoy the sound of it. I've added it to my 'list!' For context, my friend comes from an old money family, and her relative with the name is in his mid 60s, but I think that Flavian is one of those names that is ready for a modern revival.
Flavian is also the Bulgarian and Russian form of Flavianus. Both in Bulgaria and Russia the name is spelled as Флавиан.
