Freda Porter, a member of the Lumbee tribe of North Carolina, is an applied mathematician and environmental scientist known as one of the first Native American women to earn a PhD in the mathematical sciences. My Nana's first name was Freda Lee. Her friends called her Fritz for fun. I don't like the name Freda alone but Freda Lee is a nice, warm, fun, old fashioned name. 8o)
This name is okay in my mind. I'd also like to say I know at least 3 people who's names are Freda, pronounced just like it's spelled, not freeda. Just letting you know!
