Gordana as a name was made relatively popular in Croatia during the 30s and 40s, due to the book series "Gordana Queen of Croats", by author Marija Jurić Zagorka. Currently it is out of fashion, but will most likely soon come back in vogue, as many other 'granny' names are coming back. In Croatia, the male version of this name, Gordan, is vanishingly rare.
