I'm slightly surprised that no one mentioned the children's story Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman. It was one of my favorites as a kid. It's about an African American girl who desperately wants to play Peter Pan in the school play but the other kids laugh at her for even thinking it because she's both black and a girl. It's a cute story with a positive message.

Dr. Grace Holloway was a companion of the Eighth Doctor. She has the rather dubious distinction of being the only companion to kill the Doctor directly (she was trying to operate on one of his hearts, and it didn't work out), and the less dubious distinction (for some fans) of being the first companion to snog the Doctor.

My name is Grace and I love my name. I was named after my granny whose surname was Grace. Nobody had it when I was a child but a lot of babies are now called Grace. Only thing I don't like is that I married a Kelly so now the actress is a constant mention in my life.
