Feminine form of Gracieux. This name was first used as one of the main characters of Madame d'Aulnoy's fairy tale Gracieuse and Percinet (1697). It was later used by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont as the name of the love interest in her fairy tale Prince Fortune and Prince Fatal (1757).
