Comments for the name Grid

When I hear this name (as an English-speaker), I think of graphs.

Grid (noun): "a network of horizontal and perpendicular lines, uniformly spaced, for locating points on a map, chart, or aerial photograph by means of a system of coordinates."

I'm Norwegian (American) so I'm used to seeing names that are spelled the same as unrelated English words. I like it, it's pretty, and the meaning is beautiful. In predominantly anglophone countries Grid should be used as a middle name. Plus I'm really good at math. All in all, a nice name.
