In Sweden this is a very modern name, more or less considered "invented" by parents of the 80's-90's. 25 years ago there weren't even 10 people registered with the name Gry, and it is not listed in any older name books/listings. TV-personality Gry Forsell might have inspired parents.

This would make great middle name because it's short and wonderful sounding like other common middle names like 'Anna' and 'Mary/Marie'.
