Gualberto Castro (1934 – 2019) was a Mexican singer, actor and television presenter. Castro was best known for singing with Los Hermanos Castro (aka "The Brothers Castro"), for his portrayal of Tony in the 1977 Mexican production of West Side Story, and for hosting the television program La Carabina de Ambrosio.
Gualberto is also the Italian form of Waldobert (possibly via its variant Walbert): https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gualberto (in Italian).However, it should be noted that at least in Italy, Gualberto can also come from the Germanic given name Walabert, of which the first element consists of Old High German 'walah' meaning "wanderer, traveller, foreigner".Since Wal- tends to become Gual- in Italian, both names can easily result into Gualberto. See also the Wikipedia article below, where if you scroll down to the elements 'valah' and 'vald', you will see that both of these Germanic elements can turn into Gual- in Italian.- https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onomastica_germanica#Elementi (in Italian)Last but not least, Ernst Förstemann (1822-1906) also lists some forms starting with Gual- in his book "Altdeutsches Namenbuch":- on page 1501, see the entry for Waldobert, which mentions Gualdepert, Gualdipert and Gualpert;
- on page 1515, see the entry for Walhberct, which mentions Gualepert and Gualipert. [noted -ed]
