Hamza does NOT mean Steadfast & Strong, but it is believed by many Arab Scholars to have come from the word Hamuza which means Steadfast & Strong.

Hamza does NOT mean Lion Of God either, that was the name the uncle of Prophet Mohammed was given because of his prowess on the battlefield.

Hamza is also known as "Abu-Arab" which means "Father of the Arabs".
