Hanae Mori (森 英恵)- 1926-2022, was a Japanese fashion designer, and the first Asian woman to be inducted into the French Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion. She opened her first shop in Tokyo in 1951, and over the years designed costumes for hundreds of movies, and seasons of runway fashions until she retired in 2004. She died in August of 2022 at the age of 96, after a short illness.

Hanae Yokoya is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 1995 Japanese national champion. Her highest placement at the World Figure Skating Championships was 10th, which she achieved in 1995 and 1996. Yokoya retired from competitive skating following the 1998-1999 season. She currently works as a coach.
