Meaning & History

The name most likely comes from חלד (halad) meaning "being of the Earth". Some think it may come from חלד (holed) meaning "mole" or "weasel".

In the Bible, Heled is one of David's warriors. He is the son of Baanah the Netophathite. Heled is only mentioned once in the Bible, in 1 Chronicles 11:30.
