I like the meaning, but I wouldn't name a kid this. I guess Larry could be a nickname?
Also used in French (even though the name is almost archaic): https://meilleursprenoms.com/popularite-prenom/Hilarion
Belgium: http://www.names.be/jongensnamen.html?met=Hilarion&sort=alpha
This name was also used among the German minority in Bessarabia: https://ofb.genealogy.net/famreport.php?ofb=krasna&ID=I21050&nachname=Steiert&modus=&lang=de
I am sure that "Hilarion" is Greek for Latin "Hilarius", English "Hilary" etc.
Hilarion is one of the characters in the ballet 'Giselle'. In the story, he loves Giselle but Giselle does not love him in return. Later he is killed by the 'Wilis' or the spirit of young betrayed brides.
