Ime is a West Frisian short form of Germanic given names that start with Irmin- (such as Irmingard) and Im- (such as Imbert), both of which are ultimately derived from the Germanic element 'ermen' meaning "whole, universal".With that said, Ime is indeed a unisex given name, but it is much more commonly found on males than on females.Also, variant forms and spellings of this given name include: Ieme, Iemme, Imme, Immo, Imo, Yme, Ymo, Ymme and Ymmo.Sources used:
