Isa is the Quranic, Islamic name for the prophet identified in the Quran as Messiah Jesus.

Prior to this usage, however, the name Jesus in Arabic was spelled Y-Sh-W-A by Christians, and pronounced Yasua, linking it to the Aramaic Yeshua, and Hebrew Yehoshua. This earlier rendering is still used by some Christians in Arabic-speaking, majority Muslim lands.
