Isabelle

This is my birth name (I changed it for personal reasons) and personally I think it's a beautiful name. A little overused, sure, but a beautiful one.

Isabelle is lovely. I'm a big fan of Isabelle and other French girls' names ending in -elle. (ex. Danielle, Gabrielle, Michelle...) and the sounds is sweet too.

I very much prefer Isabella to Isabelle, but it’s a gorgeous name regardless. Isabelle is a pretty nickname for Isabella though. For a French girl it’s great as name on its own, as it’s the French version of Isabella. When I have a daughter I will name her Isabella and use Isabelle or Izzy as a nickname. Overall I think Isabelle is a feminine, beautiful, classy name.

Isabelle here! This isn’t even biased, but i feel like it is a MUCH better name then Isabella and my experience with people named Isabella is not good, most of them are annoying, I go by Belle, and people always call me Isabella or Bella which irritates me beyond explanation. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie, so that’s cool! I think it’s a very proper name, I am a straight A student and it is also quite uncommon I’d say, as I haven’t met another Isabelle so far in my life. Hate the nickname Izzy. Those are my opinions on the name Isabelle as an Isabelle myself.

I really like Isabelle and Isabella, but I prefer Isabelle, I like that it's associated with Isabelle from Animal Crossing, and I think the nickname Belle is adorable, but honestly it seems to be dying out, so maybe it's not as loved as it once was.

It has Animal Crossing association and I like Isabelle the dog. I love it as much as Isabella! Haters stop hating; both names are beautiful! Isabella is just very popular while Isabelle is less common.

This is SOOOO much better than Isabella. For one it's less popular, and for two it's just so elegant and beautiful.

I love this name and gave it to my daughter as her middle name. It’s fun to say “[firstname] is a bell, [firstname] is a clarinet,” etc. I made up a whole song with a different instrument for each letter of the alphabet.

Isabel is also pretty but we went with Isabelle as a nod to Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

I knew 2 sisters, Isabelle and Abigail but they both went by the nicknames “Izzy” and “Abbie”.

I personally love this name. My daughter's name is Isabelle Mae and it couldn't fit her any better. I picked this name as when she was born it wasn't commonly heard and it was old fashioned to me. I grew up listening to my mother talk of her granny Isabel, which was a last name. People who don't like it don't comment then.

Ah yes, my name. Personally I alternate between love and hate of it (as a 15 year old girl). As mentioned in this comment thread, Bella or Belle is a nickname which is hated/never used by folks with the name. It gets confusing sometimes when you have someone who has the same name (well Isabella) or a very similar one to you. Always used Izzy more as it is shorter and sounds less stuck up. My main reason for hating it over the years being how feminine it is as I was and still am extremely tomboyish though it is growing on me as I grow up. Another reason being that I have to spell it out to avoid Isabella, Isabel, Isabell and many other variations. Despite that fact, I do like it much more than the other spellings and variations, especially Isobelle/Isobel of which is what my father wanted to call me after he couldn't get his way with Esmeralda. However, French won out. It sounds better on some folks over others.

Isabelle is a quite pretty name, and I prefer it to Isabella. It is simple and sweet, easy to pronounce, and isn't as popular as Isabella. It is yet another lovely way around the name 'Elizabeth'. However, despite the fact that Isabella ranks higher in the name popularity chart for the United States, I have met a lot more people with the name Isabelle than Isabella in my area. If you want to name your child Isabelle, be aware that there probably will be another Isabelle in her class, and she most likely will have to specify which Isabelle she is. I prefer Isabel, Ysabel, Isabell and Isobel. Isabel/Isabèl is very easy to pronounce in Spanish, Occitan, Portuguese, French, German, and Dutch, and is shorter and not as common. Ysabel may look strange, but is not as common as Isabel and can be pronounced in Spanish easily. Isabell is easy to pronounce in German, and is also less common than Isabel. Isobel is very easy to pronounce in Scots. :)

This name is horrible. It is way too common and gets really confusing. However I do not mind the version Bella or Belle as this is less common but still an abbreviation of it. If you are thinking of calling your daughter this then just think about the popularity of it which is in fact not good. Also, they say the name reflects the person and picking a unique name will give a better personality for the person.

This is my second middle name (paired with Jennifer, so my middle name is Jennifer Isabelle). I would feel incomplete without Isabelle, I feel like it ties together my whole name. Generally, I find Isabelle very elegant, classy, graceful, beautiful, and feminine, especially as a first name.

This name is so pretty, and I like it better than Isabella. In total I know about 4 or 5 Isabella’s but only 1 Isabelle. It is so pretty!

In my opinion, this is quite a pretty name that I can picture on both a dog and a grown adult. The Animal Crossing association is also a very nice thing as well, even though most people probably won't think of that.

Isabelle is my name, I was born in 1970 in French Canada and it was extremely popular back then. Never really liked it because it was so common in my age group!

I think Isabelle has an ethereal youth to it, it reminds me of soft beauty. It has a strength to it, yet it is not harsh. To me, it is kind. I think it complements a girl as she ages. It is playful for a child, lovely for a young woman, strong for a mother.

My name is Isabelle and I love it. When I was younger I thought it was weird and used to be made fun of for it. It is a classic name that is not very popular with my age group (I was born in 1999). My name is Isabelle and I am very happy with it. It's a simple, strong, but still quite unusual name with lots of nicknames! I get called everything from Belle, Bella, Isa, Issa and certain teachers call me Isabella. Here, in Sweden, it's not THAT usual and especially not in my age group!

I like this name because it's classic and femenine, and the pronunciation is beautiful. I like names like that, I was debating what second (middle) name to give my daughter between: Isabelle, Gabrielle, Danielle. I decided on Isabelle, Her first name is going to be Nevaeh, so her complete name will be Nevaeh Isabelle. ^_^
