Comments for ISLEEN:
Oh, dear God! When was this name created?
First off, the original Aisling is not pronounced AYZ-leen or IEZ-leen, but ASH-lin. That's the Irish pronunciation of the name. The fact that Isleen was created is appalling. Ashling or Ashlinn would be a true "Anglicization" of the name. Isleen is just a bastardization of it.
I apologize to all those who unfortunately bear this name.-- Anonymous User 12/5/2009
This name is quite ugly, and it sounds more like a bastardization of Eileen than Aisling.-- bananarama 12/25/2009
I like Isleen, but how could anyone get it out of Aisling? I simply don't understand that. I think the first comment was quite rude in saying this name is a "bastardization" of Aisling. I highly, highly doubt this name even comes from Aisling; in my opinion, it's more likely a combination of names such as Isabel and Eileen.
I really like this name, assuming it's pronounced IZ-leen. I normally don't like names that end in -leen, but Isleen sounds very pretty, and feels fresh, different and unusual. However, I prefer the spellings Islín or Islïn. To me, "ee" looks distasteful. I think the name looks prettier when spelt with a diacritic or a trema.-- Ailis 2/19/2010
Isleen looks to me like a blend of Isla and Eileen.
I would pronounce it "ie-LEEN" (just like Eileen).-- Swiff 5/14/2012
