IVET IS NOT CATALAN! It's Bulgarian and Ivette is Catalan there is a difference in spelling as it clearly shows on the webpage. Ivet was Bulgarian when I was named! It's ignorance to say Ivet is Catalan when Ivette is Catalan and when it is shortened it's the Bulgarian spelling. Ivette DOES NOT = Ivet.
Also Catalan: http://www.idescat.cat/noms/?q=Ivet&lang=en. [noted -ed]
Ivet is also the Catalan form (an adapted form) of the French Yvette.
In Bulgaria "Iveta" is the commonly used cognate of Yvette. To be perfectly honest Ivet doesn't sound Bulgarian at all and is rarely used. The bearers of the name usually celebrate their name days on 7 January (St. John's Day).
In Bulgaria "Ivet" does not have a nameday on 7th January. In Bulgaria "Ivet" does not have a nameday. One of the 2 Iva's namedays is on 7th January (the day of St John the Baptist according to the Orthodox Calender).
