Jehoiachin was also known as Jeconiah (Yah appoints) or Coniah. Coniah and Jehoiachin were used interchangeably throughout the account of his life. Jeconiah was used in the New Testament book of Matthew, where he was listed as a son of Josiah and an ancestor of Joseph, step-father of Jesus.
