Jessamyn West wrote "The Friendly Persuasion," a novel of an Indiana Quaker family during the Civil War. The novel explored pacifism during wartime. It was later adapted for a film starring Gary Cooper and Dorothy McGuire. She was also Richard Nixon's second cousin (and mine as well!). Amazing woman with a lovely name--near the top of my list if I ever have a daughter.

So pretty. Sounds like a cross of Jessica and Jasmine.
